On page 46 when it says “what follows is a typical hit and run quotation by a student responding to an essay by Deborah Tannen, a linguistics professor and prominent author, who complains that academics value opposition over agreement.” I thought that the only way to introduce a quote was to state where and how it relates to the topic being written about.
On page 49 when its talking about blending the Author’s words into your own is a important point when quoting because it’s also called interpretation. This is important because you also can’t copy exactly what is being said.
